Thomas Bills, MD, PhD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstructive surgery and general orthopedics at Mercer-Bucks Orthopedics. He is one of the founders of MBO.
Dr. Bills grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Syracuse University in New York. He then moved to Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to complete a PhD in pharmacology and a Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College, now the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia.
He received advanced training in pediatric orthopedics at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia; Trauma at Robert Wood Johnson Trauma Center in New Jersey; Joint Replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery; Osteoporosis at Cornell Medical School; and Bone Tumor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, New York.
Dr. Bills is an active staff member of Capital Health Systems and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and an active attending staff at Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceville.
He is an associate staff member at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. He serves on the research staff as a visiting scientist at The Hospital for Special Surgery in the Department of Orthopedic Research at Cornell Medical School in New York City, New York. He is a consulting staff physician at the Metabolic Bone Disease Service and Osteoporosis Center in the Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell Medical School in New York City.

“I’m so glad I found this office. The dr’s & office staff are wonderful & so helpful! I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences since I’ve started going to MBO. Dr. Bills is great & takes the time to explain the issues I’m having & listens carefully to everything I tell him. I wish I knew her name, but the nurse who is his assistant was so patient when helping me deal with my insurance company regarding a prescription I needed. The x-ray technician is very patient & helpful as well. The staff at the front desk are so great & patient. I also love that I can get my Dr’s visits, physical therapy & MRI’s/radiology work done in one office. A real one-stop shop. The online portal is a huge plus as well.
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention the physical therapists & the great work they do. Tricia, Frank & Brandon have all been wonderful & are great at keeping me focused & making sure I work hard at my therapy. I can literally feel the progress.
